Successful Development of a New Microscope with Delmic
A few years ago, Delmic and MareVisie started a collaboration to guide the development and production of an advanced microscope. MareVisie brought in its expertise in project management and high-tech product development to ensure the project ran smoothly within the consortium of four parties.
Delmic is a leading high-tech company from Delft that develops correlative light and electron microscopy solutions. Their mission is to create advanced and user-friendly systems that help scientific and industrial researchers with groundbreaking insights.
Challenge: Collaboration within a Consortium
The goal of the project was the development of an innovative microscope with unparalleled processing speed. This complex project took place within a consortium with ThermoFisher Scientific, Technolution, TU Delft, and Delmic.
The challenge? Four independent parties each working on different aspects of development, such as mechanical engineering, IT, and process development, while coherence and dependencies had to be monitored.
Our Role as MareVisie
MareVisie brought project management expertise to Delmic and helped set up a professional project organization and approach. Our role included:
- Coordination between the various parties to monitor collaboration and progress.
- Risk management and stakeholder management, ensuring dependencies were addressed in a timely manner.
- Reports and documentation that aligned with the needs of all involved parties.
- Guidance of the development team to ensure crucial processes were not overlooked.
- Systems Engineering to map the interfaces of the various modules and correctly implement changes throughout the entire system.
Result: Structured and Efficient Project Management
Thanks to this effort, Delmic could continue to focus on technical innovations, while we ensured a structured project approach. Our project managers made sure all stakeholders remained aligned and that the technical development was not delayed by organizational or procedural obstacles.
Due to our experience with high-tech product development and collaboration within consortia, we were able to quickly adapt and anticipate challenges.
